What to Expect when You Hire a Home Organizer

When it comes to hiring a professional organizer, there’s no one-size-fits-all program. A good pro organizer will begin with setting up an in-home consultation to determine the size and scope of your particular project and to chat with you about your needs, pain points, goals and timeline.

Not every project requires bins and labels— a good decluttering session and the creation of simple systems using anything you may have laying around the house may be exactly what your project calls for. Today, I’m sharing exactly what you can expect when working with a home organizer…

1. A Judgement-Free Partner

Life happens and sometimes your home gets put on the back burner. We’ve all been there. It’s our mission to help you feel as comfortable as possible with an absolutely judgement-free attitude. There’s truly no need for embarrassment—we’ve seen it all, and to be totally honest, the messier, the better. We love what we do and get the utmost joy from seeing a client’s journey into personal home organizing freedom.

2. Personalized, Functional Solutions

Just as our services are varied, our process is personal to each client and their everyday needs. We spend a good amount of time at the initial consultation asking questions and getting to know your lifestyle, what’s important to you, and how we can work together to create functional systems that last. It’s easy to get caught up in the beautiful pictures on Instagram, but it’s not always realistic. If we can add a touch of Designing with Less style, however, we will always do that. Function first, style second.

3. New Habits to Stay Organized

The systems and processes only work if you are willing to implement new habits. For example, we had a client recently who had a problem finding his car keys. The same thing happened each day: he would come home from a long hard day at work, mindlessly throw his keys down and then spend a silly amount of time trying to find them later when he needed them again.

With our help in creating a simple landing zone on the table by the front door, he was able to get in the habit of chucking his keys in the basket upon arriving home and then easily finding them again on his way out. He’s less stressed and the habit is a simple one to maintain.

Finding Joy in Your New Space

Our top priority is for you to breathe easy and enjoy your newly curated space. We want you to get your time, energy and peace of mind back. Oh, and we’ll even haul away your donations so you don’t have to worry about that task either!

If you're ready for a home organizer that helps you reclaim your time and joy at home, let's talk!

Xoxo,
Michelle
